I'm Deanne — a full-stack developer blending a background in healthcare and community health with a passion for building meaningful, user-friendly software. My years in nursing taught me how powerful empathy, communication, and teamwork can be, and I bring those same values into every project I work on.
I recently graduated from LaunchCode’s web development program in St. Louis, where I honed my technical skills and discovered how much I enjoy creating thoughtful, well-designed solutions. I’m driven by a love for learning, problem-solving, and working alongside others who care about making a real impact.
My goal is to combine my experience in healthcare with technology — crafting applications that don’t just work well, but genuinely make life better for the people who use them.
Outside of coding, I'm a dachshund enthusiast who loves traveling, trying new hobbies, and running around my Animal Crossing island.
I'm passionate about writing clean, readable, and reusable code that can be utilized by others to create beautiful, yet practical software. I love the amazing capabilities of React, such as its component-based architecture, to build flexible and scalable applications.
I truly believe that hard work is fostered by the people you are surrounded by. As a former nurse, I not only value but am indebted to all the incredible teams I have worked with. I strive to bring this same level of energy and dedication to my work as a developer.
I view work as a journey of lifelong learning and curiosity. To me, the fulfillment and challenge that development brings come from the endless possibilities and the ability to share solutions and collaborate with like-minded individuals. I'm always looking to expand my toolkit!
With one year of web development experience and 5 years as a registered nurse, I'm actively expanding my knowledge, enhancing my skills, and learning new technologies in this fast-paced field.
Here are the projects I've worked on so far. Please stay tuned for more!
